Post mortems will take place today on two sets of remains found yesterday, in Cork and Wexford.
The body of a man in his 70s was found at around midday yesterday at a house in Cloyne.
A post mortem will be conducted at Cork University Hospital.
While another body was found yesterday afternoon in a tributary of the River Barrow near New Ross in Co Wexford.
The remains were discovered in the area where a search was being carried out for missing Statia Purcell (66).
The body was removed to Waterford Regional Hospital.
Gardaí say the course of their investigations will be decided by the outcome of the post mortems.
