A postmortem is due to take place today on the body of a man who was stabbed in Cork city.
Jason Butler, aged 32, died at Cork University Hospital yesterday afternoon after he was brought there in critical condition earlier this week.
The State Pathologist Dr Sally Anne Collis is due to conduct a postmortem on the body later today.
Mr Butler, originally from Midleton, was stabbed during an altercation on Grand Parade in the city at 7:30pm on June 15th.
Aaron Babbington, aged 29, of Churchfield Avenue in Churchfield appeared at Cork District Court yesterday charged with assault causing harm to Mr Butler.
Gardaí objected to bail, and Mr Babbington is expected to return to court next Thursday.
