Pre-orders for the iPhone 5 have broken all records – despite many being underwhelmed by the launch.

Online orders were already at 2 million on Friday – more than double the first day of on-line sales for the iPhone 4S.

The Apple gadget will be available in shops in the UK from Friday, and in Ireland next week.
