The Presbyterian Church has cancelled Sunday worship until further notice.
In a letter to ministers across the country, the Presbyterian Moderator Dr William Henry said all congregational organisations and activities should cease due to the coronavirus.
He said that while gatherings must be curtailed to combat the spread of the virus, ministers should look for “creative” ways to offer their congregations worship resources.
Meanwhile, the number of people attending weddings and funerals is to be kept as low as possible.
Dr Henry said it is not possible to say when the restrictions will be lifted.
He said similar advice was being issued by the Methodist Church and several Dioceses of the Church of Ireland.
Last week a number of Catholic Bishops confirmed that masses would be cancelled across their dioceses for the next number of weeks.
