President Michael D Higgins will attend most of the funerals of the victims of the Creeslough tragedy in Donegal. 

The funerals of Martin McGill, 49, and Jessica Gallagher, 24, will take place on Tuesday while the President is addressing the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. At those two funerals, he will be represented by his aide de camp.

On Wednesday, the President will travel to Donegal where he will attend the remaining funerals and meet with family members. 

He will also thank members of the emergency services in person.
