HBO has confirmed that Larry David's cult comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm will return for a ninth season.
The last series of the show aired in 2011, and saw David's character - a fictionalised version of himself - travelling to New York after his divorce.
In a brief statement, David (who also co-created Seinfeld) said: “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”
No further details or premiere date for the upcoming ninth series have been announced.
While it has five years since the last episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry David has kept active - all the while teasing fans about a possible continuation of Curb.
In 2013, he co-wrote and starred in the TV film Clear History, again for HBO.
More recently, he has channeled the Curb spirit in his impressions of Bernie Sanders - including a Saturday Night Live sketch entitled Bern Your Enthusiasm.
