The price of buying a home in Ireland last year rose by 9%.
The latest report from daft.ie has found that Dublin and Galway recorded the highest increases, at 9% each - followed by Limerick, at 8.2%.
The average cost of buying a home nationally stood at just over €332,000 - while in the capital, it was almost €700,000.
Author of the report and Trinity College Dublin Assistant Professor of Economics Ronan Lyons explained where the most expensive houses are.
“The average price in Dublin 14 is about €600,000, in South County Dublin it's closer to €700,000 and in Dublin 6 it's somewhere in between - they're the most expensive places in the country,” he said.
Outside of Dublin, the most expensive market is Wicklow, where houses average at €425,000.
