Author of the report and Trinity College Dublin Assistant Professor of Economics Ronan Lyons explained where the most expensive houses are.

“The average price in Dublin 14 is about €600,000, in South County Dublin it's closer to €700,000 and in Dublin 6 it's somewhere in between - they're the most expensive places in the country,” he said.

Outside of Dublin, the most expensive market is Wicklow, where houses average at €425,000.
