Britain's Queen Elizabeth is to hold an emergency 'family meeting' tomorrow - after Prince Harry and his wife Meghan announced they were stepping back as senior royals.
Prince Harry will discuss his future role with the royal family, while Meghan has already flown back to Canada to be with their son.
The Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William are expected to also attend tomorrow's meetingĀ at the Queen's Sandringham resident.
It comes in the wake of Harry and Meghan's announcement that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family to "carve out a progressive new role" within the institution.
They are hoping to 'balance their time' between the UK and North America as they raise their son, and will work towards becoming financially independent.
The couple stressed they would 'continue to honour' their duties to the Queen.
Wednesday's announcement is reported to have surprised other senior royals, with a statement from Buckingham Palace insisting discussions with the couple were only at an "early stage".
The statement added: "We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through."
Last year, both Harry and Meghan admitted they were struggling with the headlines and attention from British tabloid newspapers.
In an interview with ITV, Meghan said not many people had asked if she was OK - and admitted living in the public eye as a new mother had been a "struggle".
