The Taoiseach is being accused of courting the Pro-Life vote for political gains.

The accusations come following a turnout of around 20-thousand people at yesterday's vigil for life rally in Dublin.

Participants of the anti-abortion campaign believe that their opposition is being ignored by government with the introduction of the The Protection of Life During Pregnancy Bill.

Breda O'Brien, Columnist and patron of the Iona Institute says Enda Kenny has betrayed them:

"People really feel that this is not going to make a difference, and they feel incredibly frustrated. I think they feel particularly angry with Enda Kenny, simply because he’s sent out a lot of people, I think, in the hope of gaining an overall majority by courting the pro-life vote by saying he wouldn’t legislate for X, and he’s broken that promise."
