Employers are to start taking property tax from workers' wages for the first time this month.

Revenue has sent out over 100,000 notices to employers giving the direction to recoup the tax or the household charge, if they have not been paid.

These deductions will show up in people's salaries or pensions from August onwards.

An estimated 95% of people have so far paid their property tax.
