Dublin Central's Labour TD Joe Costello has been confronted with a coffin this lunchtime.

Anti-property tax campaigners will march in a mock funeral procession from the Garden of Rememberance in the city centre to his constituency office in Phibsborro. 

The group claims carrying the coffin is a symbolic gesture, but that their message to the Labour party is real.

They say Labour has betrayed their working class supporters and will feel the backlash for supporting a tax on the family home.

The coffin will bear the slogan "The Labour vote is dead".
