The Communications Minister has referred to a incident where he was confronted by anti austerity protesters outside a bar in Dublin last night as "one of these things".
Gardaí had to be called when Pat Rabbitte was heckled and shouted at by demonstrators who had earlier held a protest outside the Dail.
It is understood Gardaí were called to the pub when the anti-austerity demonstrators who had earlier staged a protest outside the Dáil followed the Minister into the venue and began heckling him. Officers say no arrests were made.

This is the second time the Minister has experienced such an incident. In August last year Minister Rabbitte was heckled while eating his dinner in Buswells Hotel.
Speaking to Breakfast here on Newstalk this morning Minister Rabbitte has played down the incident.
