In the North, police are appealing for information following a burglary in Causeway End Park in Lisburn during the early hours of this morning.

Shortly before 1am, an elderly woman was returning to her home after walking her dog when she saw two men running away from the rear of her house.

She discovered that her house had been broken into and it is believed that a number of items of jewellery were stolen.

Inspector Alexander Johnston has appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time and observed any suspicious activity, or who has any information, to contact police in Lisburn.
