The PSNI is appealing for information about a car which is believed to have been involved in a number of burglaries in Monaghan, Newry and Armagh in recent days.

It is believed to have false registration plates and was stolen from Dublin.

At around 5:25pm yesterday evening, three men were disturbed trying to break into a house in Ashgrove Avenue in Newry.

On Friday, a house in the Killylea Road in Armagh was broken into and the intruders were discovered when the homeowners returned.

A Silver BMW 3 series car was seen driving away from the house. It is also believed to be linked to a burglary earlier that day in Armagh.

The PSNI say the car is believed to have a false registration number TJZ 6053.

The original vehicle registration number is believed to be 09 D 30244 - and the men in the car are said to have southern accents.

Anyone with information about the incidents or the car is asked to contact police in Ardmore or Armagh.
