The PSNI are appealing for information following a serious assault in west Belfast.

A man in his 20s was attacked in the Beechmount Parade area, just before 6am yesterday.

The victim has been unable to give a description of the person or persons involved in the assault, or to confirm if a weapon was used.

The results of medical treatment show that the man in his 20s suffered a fractured skull.
