Police in the North are appealing for witnesses after an 18 year old man was shot in the Falls Road area of west Belfast last night.

Three masked men entered a fast food outlet close to the junction of the Falls Road and Thames Street just after 9pm.

The man who was at the back of the premises was shot twice in the right leg.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The men who were wearing balaclavas made off on foot along Thames Street.
