PSNI investigate 'anti-Catholic slogan' painted on child

The PSNI have reportedly launched an investigation after a photo showing a child (5) with a sectarian slogan painted on her forehead made the rounds online.

The photo shows the girl with the abbreviation 'KAT' painted across her forehead.

KAT is an abbreviation of the anti-Catholic slogan 'Kill All Taigs'.

The Alliance Party MP for East-Belfast Naomi Long has called the incident 'utterly depressing and shocking'.

Meanwhile the Sinn Fein MLA Gerry Kelly said the incident "shows there is still along way to go".

The PSNI are investigating whether any offences have been committed in relation to the photograph.

The image is believed to have been taken in north Belfast during July 11th events.
