In the North, detectives are investigating an aggravated burglary at a house in east Belfast.

At around 8.30pm last night, five or six masked men reportedly armed with bats entered a house on London Street and assaulted a man inside.

The 44-year-old sustained a number of injuries, including a suspected broken arm and a suspected broken leg.

Police are appealing for information.
