Some 200,000 homes have yet to make the switchover to digital television with just 36 days to go until the old analogue signal is turned off.

On October 24th if you get your TV signal from an aerial and you have not taken steps to switch over your television will go blank.

And for those who get British TV channels through their aerial there is a question mark over whether that will still work.

On top of the 200,000 homes who rely on an aerial for their TV signal who have yet to switch a further 100,000 homes have a 2nd or 3rd TV which uses an aerial.

If you get your TV from an aerial you will need to buy a Saorview box or a Saorview-approved television.

Around 80,000 people also get British TV channels through their aerials.

But for those who currently get their TV through an operator such as UPC or Sky they do not have to do anything.

Michael Hickey is from freesat.ie

He says there is still a lot of confusion about what equipment you need.
