Cryptographers are joining forces at Queens University Belfast to try and come up with urgent security measures to combat hacking.

IT experts from across the EU will focus on what they call the "acute threat" posed by new technologies such a quantum computers, which are much faster than normal computers.

They will look at ways to protect the systems used by the police as well as fire and ambulance services - and they'll deal with privacy issues when it comes to data collected by authorities.
