Solicitors for Sean Quinn and his family have informed the High Court that they will no longer be representing them in two legal actions involving the former Anglo Irish Bank.
In a statement the Quinns say they are annoyed and frustrated to confirm that due to their financial position they have been forced to let go of their legal team Eversheds.
Barrister Brian O’Moore informed the court that Eversheds solicitors will apply to officially come off record for the Quinn family on Monday.
He said the Quinn family accepts for a variety of reasons that Eversheds can not continue to act in either of the 2 sets of proceedings involving the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC) – formerly Anglo Irish Bank.
The court heard they are prepared to act on one matter and that the upcoming Supreme Court appeal of Sean Quinn Junior over the contempt of court finding that has landed him in jail.
In a statement released by the Quinn family today they thank Eversheds for past service and claim their current disastrous scenario is one strategically orchestrated by Anglo.
Notwithstanding the loss of their lawyers the family says they remain stead-fast in their resolve to successfully conclude their challenge to what they say are illegal loans issued by Anglo to Quinn companies.
