The son-in-law of Sean Quinn has told the Commercial Court that members of the family perceive a conflict of interest in the receiver appointed over their assets.
Former solicitor Niall McPartland would not elaborate on the basis that he did not want to impugn the reputation of anyone in open court.
He has sought an adjournment on behalf of the Quinns to delay a bid by receiver Declan Taite to obtain orders directing the Quinns to deliver up all documents relating to their financial and tax affairs.
Mr. McPartland says the family is close to engaging new solicitors in England.
It follows the departure of Eversheds who represented the Quinns until the beginning of this month.
The judge has said he will allow a short adjournment.
