With gale force winds battering parts of the country, Storm Rachel has captured the imagination of the nation's Twitter users. Met Éireann's 'Red Alert' is still in place in some areas, as the west and north-west bear the brunt of the Atlantic storm.
With thousands of homes without electricity, and the rest of the country facing an 'Orange Alert' with gusts of up to 150 kilometers-per-hour, Twitter has become an essential place to share storm stories and advise caution. And to look Rachel square in the eye and laugh.
