A post office in Tallaght in west Dublin remains closed and under guard following a robbery. It happened at the Square Shopping Centre at around 10am this morning.

Gardai are on the hunt for two men following the raid. They believe the men were armed when they burst into the office, which is just outside the Square Shopping Centre.

The raiders threatened staff before making off with an undisclosed amount of cash. One of the men made his escape on foot while the other used a bike.

The staff members were threatened but none of them were hurt during the robbery.

They have been sent home for the day as security guards are stationed outside while the office remains sealed off for a technical exam.

The office will not be reopening today and Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to contact their local Garda Station.
