A mostly dry start to the day with some bright or sunny spells and isolated showers.

However, cloud will thicken and outbreaks of rain and drizzle will push into the west and southwest during the afternoon, extending countrywide by evening, with some heavy bursts along with freshening southerly breezes.

Top temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees, mildest in the east.

Tonight

Wet for a time tonight, however rain will turn more showery, most of these moving in across Atlantic counties later.

Lows of 10 to 12 degrees, in moderate to fresh southwest breezes.
