A record number of 14,500 competitors are expected at the start line of the Dublin Marathon later this morning.
The race gets underway at 9am from Fitzwilliam Street in the capital, with the 42 kilometre course finishing on Merrion Square.
Traffic diversions are in place in Dublin City Centre to facilitate the marathon.

Met Eireann say there is a risk of strong winds and occassional thundery downpours over the course of the day.
