The number of drowning's recorded during the past week is the greatest number seen since the 1970's.
That's according to Irish Water Safety - who say they're deeply concerned that 8 people have died in Irish waters since the heatwave first began more than a week ago.
The latest case was yesterday evening in Kerry - when a 20 year old man drowned while swimming in Lough Leane in Killarney.
The group is urging people to stay safe if taking to the water this week. CEO of Irish Water Safety John Leech has this advice if you see someone in difficulty:
