The owner of a Dublin hotel where David Byrne was murdered says it has suffered "devastating financial losses" because of what happened.
The High Court heard the shooting last month has directly resulted in the cancellation of a number of events.
Footage taken during a boxing weigh-in at the Regency Hotel in Dublin captured the panic felt in the room when an armed gang burst in and opened fire - killing father of two David Byrne and wounding two others.
In a sworn affidavit, the owner James McGettigan said the great deal of media attention it received on that date - February 5th - was both "understandable and regrettable".
He said the location of the shooting became widely known because of that footage and their long-established family-run business has suffered reputational damage and loss of earnings due to a number of cancellations.
The hotel has made a claim of just over €217,000 with its insurer, but Mr McGettigan claims Aviva Insurance have failed to engage with them fully.
He is now seeking permission from the High Court to serve notice of legal proceedings against the company. The matter is due back before the court next month.
