It comes after the ESB yesterday announced it made a profit of €230 million during the first six months of this year.
It made the profit in the first 6 months of this year.
That is despite the fact that just a few weeks ago the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) gave the company the go-ahead to hike its gas prices by 8.5%.
Need to charge customers more
The ESB had claimed they needed to charge their customers more in order to stay afloat.
Fianna Fail energy spokesperson is Michael Moyihan.
He says the ESB cannot be allowed get away with this and the government needs to ask the energy regulator some serious questions.
He is also calling for more scrutiny of decisions taken by the Energy Regulator.
