Gardai are renewing their appeal for the help of the public in tracing the whereabouts of Deirdre Jacob. Sunday marks the 15th anniversary of her disappearance in Kildare in 1998.
She was 18 when she vanished from the side of the road near her home in Newbridge, Co. Kildare. The trainer teacher had been visiting her grandmother a short distance from her home.
Gardai, Crimestoppers and her parents are expected to make an appeal to the public at Naas Garda Station this morning.
She was last seen walking along the Barretstown Road in Roseberry - from the Newbridge direction - shortly after 3pm on July 28th 1998.
On that day Deirdre was carrying a black canvas bag with the yellow Caterpillar logo (CAT). This bag has never been found.

Commenting on the appeal Superintendent Joseph Prendergast said "15 years on, we are very anxious to get some answers for Deirdre Jacob's family. If you have any information, I urge you to call Crimestoppers today".
"Perhaps you saw something out of the ordinary at the time but dismissed it as unimportant. What seems insignificant to you could be crucial" he added.
Her parents Bernadette and Michael Jacob say anything small will help.
Anybody with information can call Crimestoppers on 1800-25-00-25.
Calls to Crimestoppers are anonymous and callers do not need to leave their name or address. People may receive a reward for information which significantly helps the investigation.
