A rescue plan for Atlantic Homecare has been approved by the High Court.
It will see a €5.7 million investment into the chain by Woodies DIY.
Both firms are owned by the Grafton Group.
Under the scheme there will be 70 fewer redundancies than initially through bringning the number of job losses to 44.
It will also see only 2 store closures.
The plan was approved by all creditors with no opposition to it.
The company was placed in examinership back in June with losses of more than €21 million.
An independent report prepared at the time for the High Court suggested that 5 of the 13 stores of the firm may had to have closed.
The wholly Irish-owned company has been established for over 18 years.
