A number of residents in a Lucan housing development have moved out of their homes over fire safety fears.
It is reported Foxford Court was built 9 years ago on behalf of South Dublin County Council but there is a lack of essential fire safety protections.
A number of units were bought as affordable housing from the Council. It is also reported that the Council established the management company for the development which it ran for the first year.
The Irish Times reports that numerous requests have been made to address the problem but the council says it is not its responsibility because the properties are privately owned. But some residents argue that the Council signed off on a certificate of compliance on the houses and granted them a fire safety certificate as well.
Some residents say they raised concerns over fire safety at the complex as far back as 2005. There are calls for South Dublin County Council to step in and rectify the problems.
