It turns out we have been eating chocolate biscuits upside down. A spokesperson from biscuit-maker McVitie's has confirmed the distressing news this morning.
In a statement the company says "The chocolate is actually on the bottom of the biscuit and not on the top. The McVitie's stamp is on the other side, which is the top of the biscuit".
Well...which is it?
This means that we have been eating Chocolate Digestives and Hobnobs the wrong way around.
The spokesperson says that this is because the biscuits go through "a reservoir of chocolate, which enrobes them" - meaning the chocolate is actually on the bottom.
McVitie's Original Digestive was created in 1892 and is now sold in more than 100 countries.
