The Revenue Commissioners say they are working towards "100 percent compliance" with the local property tax.

They have confirmed that they have already started deducting the payment from the salaries of the 10% of homeowners who failed to register.

November 7th has been set at the deadline for people who want to pay by cheque for 2014.

Seperatly homeowners who want to pay their property tax in installments next year are being told they must confirm that within the next few weeks.

Revenue has confirmed that letters are being sent to most property owners to establish how people want to pay the tax due in 2014.

Anyone who opts for phased payments next year will have to confirm their method of payment by November 27th if they are doing so online.

Vivienne Dempsey is in charge of collecting the LPT for the Revenue Commissioners. She told Lunchtime here on Newstalk that they are ensuring people pay, one way or another.
