Revenue has seized €20,000 in cash and almost 30,000 cigarettes in separate operations in Dublin.

The cash was seized when a truck, arriving from Holyhead, at Dublin Port was stopped and searched.

Officers have been granted a three month detention order to investigate further.

Elsehwere nearly 30,000 cigarettes were uncovered in two separate operations.

20 thousand 'NZ Gold Slim' cigarettes - worth over €10,000 were found when a house in Clonsilla was searched.

A Russian man was interviewed and investigations are continuing.

Meanwhile 7,600 Marlboro and Craven A brand cigarettes were found when a premises in Clondalkin was searched.
