Revolut has announced plans to create more than 30 jobs in Dublin this year.
The banking app wants to base its western Europe activities in the city once it gets permission from the Central Bank.
It plans to move responsibility for its European payments from London to Ireland and Lithuania after Brexit.
The company says Ireland's highly educated and diverse workforce is one of the main reasons it wants to set up a regional hub here.
Revolut currently employs 12 people in Ireland, including a CEO, Chief Financial Officer and a Chief Risk Officer.
It said it hopes to grow the team in Ireland to 40 to 50 people this year.
More than 500,000 people are signed up to use the digital-only service here.
Richard Davies, CEO of Banking at Revolut, said: “We remain committed to having London as our global headquarters, with Ireland planned to take on our Western Europe activities subject to authorisation from the CBI.
"Ireland was selected as a regional hub due to our large customer base in the country, and access to a highly educated and diverse pool of talent.”
