A section of the N81 was closed after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Tallaght overnight.

It happened shortly before midnight between Citywest and Jobstown. 

The pedestrian has been taken to Tallaght University Hospital where his injuries are said to be non-life threatening. 

A section of the N81 in Tallaght was closed while Gardaí examined the scene and has since reopened.
