Road users are being urged to take extra care this morning with five weather warnings in place across the country.
Met Éireann issued a status 'orange' snow-ice warning and a wind alert last night - along with three 'yellow' warnings and there are reports of snow ice and compacted snow around the country as a result.
Driving conditions are treacherous in many parts this morning, in particular around Barnesmore Gap, Ballyshannon and outside Letterkenny in Donegal.

AA Roadwatch is advising caution too around Fermoy in Co. Cork, Nenagh, Roacrea and Thurles in Co. Tipperary and Mullingar in Co. Westmeath.
