A report into the handling of a "rogue tweet" read on last year"s Frontline Presidential debate on RTE, has criticised the broadcaster for the manner in which it dealt with the issue.
The report found fault with the format of the debate, audience selection and the standard of training in key matters such as social media.
RTE was heavily criticised over the bogus tweet that was put to Sean Gallagher in relation to donations allegedly collected by him for Fianna Fáil.
The broadcaster says it accepts the findings and regrets the mistakes made in preparation for the programme but the report also found that the mistakes made were not the result of bias.
