Gardaí from Louth have arrested a man as part of an investigation into romance fraud. 

Last year, a woman alleged she had lost a large sum of money to fraud and Gardaí began to make inquiries. 

Today, a man in his 30s was arrested at Dublin Airport and he has been detained at a Garda Station in the North Western Region. 

Gardaí described the investigation as “ongoing”.
