The RTÉ Director-General says top presenters at the broadcaster could face further pay cuts. Noel Curran is appearing before an Oireachtas Committee this morning where he is updating members on RTÉ's financial restructuring plan.
He has admitted the salaries of highest earners at RTÉ became 'too high' during the boom but said cuts of between 21 and 68% had been made in the past two years.
He said that while RTÉ has a target that target depends on where the second half of the year goes. Mr. Curran says RTE will continue to review the pay of its presenters and will continue to cut pay if it sees fit.

Mr. Curran has also warned there is a danger that a new media charge will be seen as a "panacea" for every ill in the broadcasting industry and that that RTÉ is competing against stiff competition, such as Sky and the BBC.
While the RTÉ Managing-Director of News and Current Affairs Kevin Bakhurst has said restructuring the regions is enabling substantial savings in operating costs.
