Russia has said it would be "political suicide" for the Syrian Government, if President Bashar al-Assad used chemical weapons against the armed opposition.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview that Assad has given Moscow repeated assurances he had no plans to order such an attack.

His comments come as 90 people, queuing for bread, were killed outside a bakery in the Syrian city of Hama yesterday, when government forces launched an airstrike rocket attack.
The Syrian President Al-Assad is meeting with the International Envoy on Syria Lakhdar Brahimi in Damascus later today.
