A dashboard camera has captured a Russian police officer being carried on a car's bonnet after trying to stop a traffic violator trying to flee. Sergei Siluyanova, 30, was arrested in Moscow after his abandoned Dodge vehicle was found in the yard of a house, according to the Life News website.
The footage shows how Alexander Seleznev was performing a traffic stop when the vehicle ploughs into him.
But as Siluyanova attempts to drive off, the officer clings to the car's bonnet and is driven for nearly a kilometre through traffic before he is thrown from the vehicle, narrowly missing other cars.
Lieutenant Seleznev was taken to hospital after falling from the moving vehicle. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
He reportedly tried to stop the Dodge after it attempted to make an illegal turn on the Schelkovskoye Highway.
Siluyanova, who has previous convictions of theft and possession of drugs, told police he drove off because he was afraid of going to prison.
The 30-year-old went on the run for two days before being captured.
