14 of the world’s top cliff divers travelled to the Aran Islands from the US, the UK and the Ukraine, amongst other countries.

One of the British divers, Blake Aldridge partnered GB Olympic hopeful Tom Daly at the last games in Beijing.
But unlike the Olympics, where the highest dive is from a 10-metre platform, today competitors tumbled and twisted their way down from the enormous height of 28 metres – and off the face of a cliff.
It was Russian Artem Silchenko who took the crown in the fourth series of the round-the-world tour, with a final score of 503 points.
