A Ryanair flight from Oslo to Manchester was evacuated last night after two passengers were thought to have used the word "bomb" in a row.
Authorities were alerted just before the flight took off at Rygge airport in Norway. Two passengers were taken in for questioning after their behaviour caused suspicion.
A bomb squad searched the plane but found no suspicious device. Norwegian police said an investigation had concluded the situation was a "misunderstanding".
The incident came just hours after Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium was evacuated over a fake bomb.
Police in Manchester said the "incredibly lifelike" device, which caused the club's final Premier League game of the season to be abandoned, had been used in a training exercise involving explosive search dogs.
