Salisbury has been named the best place to live in the UK.
The Sunday Times ranking comes just a year after the city headlines around the world as the scene of a novichok poisoning attack.
Former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia both survived after they were poisoned with the nerve agent in March last year.
The Russian GRU intelligence agency has been blamed for mounting the attack – however the Kremlin has denied any involvement.
In the weeks after the attack, British woman Dawn Sturgess died after coming into contact with a discarded perfume bottle UK authorities believe was used in the attack.
In September, the UK Prime Minister Theresa May named two of the men UK authorities believe were involved in the attacks – and said they were believed to be GRU officers.
The men later appeared on Russian television and said they had travelled to the UK city as tourists to see the “famous Salisbury Cathedral, famous not only in Europe but in the whole world.”
"Collective spirit"
Commenting on the poll, Sunday Times home editor Helen Davies said: "Salisbury has shown real collective spirit in dealing with a chemical attack that saw the cathedral city become the centre of world headlines for all the wrong reasons.
"There are still parts of the city where the clean-up continues, but to bounce back and be even stronger is a sure sign of a very special community, which is one of the reasons we have chosen Salisbury as the best place to live in Britain in 2019."
"It remains a divinely attractive and welcoming place. It's handy for coast, countryside and London, has some of the best schools in the southwest, a great market and it's very strong culturally, too."
Novichok
British chemical weapons experts and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons identified the poison used in the attack as novichok - a military-grade nerve agent developed by the Soviet Union from the 1970s onward.
However, nether organisation can conclusively say where the batch was made and Russian President Vladimir Putin has insisted it could have been produced in up to 20 countries.
