Chelsea footballer Sam Kerr has been cleared of causing racially aggravated harassment towards a London police officer.
Kingston Crown Court heard that 31-year-old Kerr was out drinking with her partner in January 2023.
One of the pair was sick in a taxi; both refused to pay clean up costs and one smashed one of the taxi’s windows.
They were taken to a police station where Kerr was accused of being "abusive and insulting" towards an officer, referring to him as "f****** stupid and white".
During the trial, Kerr said she regretted her behaviour but denied that she had used "whiteness as an insult".
"I believed it was him using his power and privilege over me because he was accusing me of being something I'm not,” she said.
"I was trying to express that due to the power and privilege they had, they would never have to understand what we had just gone through and the fear we were having for our lives."
As well as playing for Chelsea, Kerr also represents Australia.
