SAORVIEW viewers across Ireland will need to re-scan their television sets today, or for two weeks after today, in order to benefit from upgraded HD services.

SAORVIEW says "re-scanning the equipment is simple and should take no more than a couple of minutes".

However failure to rescan at this point will result in an eventual loss of service.

600,000 households in Ireland use SAORVIEW and the re-scanning campaign is expected to improve service.
