Scientists say they have discovered new evidence that backs up the Big Bang theory for explaining how the universe was created.

US researchers have found so-called "gravitational waves" thanks to a telescope at the South Pole.

They were left over when the universe expanded by 100 trillion-trillion times in just a fraction of a second after the Big Bang.

Physicist Martin Archer explains how the find was made.

While Stanford University Professor Andrei Linde celebrated the breakthrough, calling it a remaining part of the story.
