Sean Dunne has lost his Supreme Court battle to have his Irish bankruptcy case thrown out.
All three judges rejected his claim in court today.
The appeal arose after Ulster Bank brought a case in February 2013, to have the developer declared bankrupt.
It relates to a default on loans of €164m.
The following month, Mr Dunne filed for bankruptcy in the US - when he claimed to have debts of US$1bn and assets of US$55m.
High Court reporter with the Irish Times is Mary Carolan.
She told Newstalk Lunchtime Mr Dunne had argued Irish bankruptcy laws do not allow for dual bankruptcy findings in different countries.
